The artsy town of Denmark, Western Australia hosts many different markets held regularly or periodically throughout the year, some specifically during the New Year and Easter holiday times!
Denmark promotes buying local, and the local markets are the perfect place to buy from-the-farm produce, local hand-made gifts. The Denmark Arts Markets hosts a range of stalls featuring high-quality items as well as performances from local and national performers and bands
The local markets occur thanks to the dedication and support of a team of locals and voluneers from throughout the community.
If you want to capture the spirit of DENMARK then these markets are not to be missed!
4 times during the year Berridge Park, by the edge of the River, hosts the DENMARK Arts Markets. This fun filled day, from 10am until 4pm, is held in December, January, Australia Day long weekend, and the Easter weekend.
The Arts Market is filled with fabulous stalls of all types. You can wander through, at your leisure, chatting to the locals and buying tempting treats and wonderful artisan items and gifts.
There are beauty stalls, jewellery, candles, home wares, locally made WA souvenirs and crafts. There is fresh local produce, including honey and a good selection of clothing for all ages. Make sure you bring your cash, you'll want it!!
The market vibe is upbeat and friendly. There is an excellent line up of local artists, welcomed on stage by local musician Myles Mitchell, throughout the day. As Denmark town is a music hub, this event offers our aspiring young musicians an audience!
Relax on the grass overlooking the river or have a dance with the locals in front of the stage! Choose from a good range of different cuisine choices from crepes to curries and deserts like fudge, donuts, ice cream and chocolate strawberries!
The market cafes offer real cups and mugs, in stand of single use plastic. These are then washed, for free on site, by lovely ladies! There are recycling stations with fun loving helpers who joyfully educate and ensure the event is an eco-friendly affair!
There are activities for children including free arts & crafts and face painting. The atmosphere is one of uplifting fun...you may be lucky enough to meet Gertrude Wellease, on of our Denmark celebrities!
The DENMARK Arts Markets are fun for all the family!
