Moombaki Wine
A family run winery committed to making distinctive hand-crafted wines with a unique cellar door setting.
Renowned for producing wines that are consistent high-award achievers (including a Halliday 5 star rating) and for their ecological approach to the vineyard and wetlands. Producing wines on a small scale allows them the freedom to do it well; hand-picked parcels of fruit, minimal intervention winemaking, and excellent oak handling allow the wines to express the character of their terroir. The vineyard was established in 1997 by David Britten and Melissa Boughey on their 105 acre property which borders the pristine Kent River (between Denmark & Walpole). A gentle north-facing slope, gravelly soils, and temperate climate all work their magic on low-yielding vines. This family owned business produces boutique wines with integrity and pride and is idyllically located in the Walpole Wilderness National Park. Apart from excellent wines, we also have mild and spicy olive oil, pickled olives, tapanade and a wide range of espresso. Certified organic grapes and olives are the fundamentals for our outstanding products, as we fully certified by The National Association for Sustainable Agriculture. Two olive groves with a total of 1500 olive trees produce three varieties of oil – primarily Frantoio, Manzanillo and Nevadillo Blanco. Enjoy beautiful views over the National Park as far as William Bay, Irwin Inlet and Peaceful Bay from the 'Taste Bar'at the Cellar Door. Open 7 days from 10am - 5pm. A family run honey business passionate about working to produce the best Mead, Honey, & Ice Cream.
One of the few meaderies in Australia, it has won many awards, and is a must see destination offering award winning mead, pure unprocessed honey and home-made honey ice cream. Visit us to see a glass beehive where you can spot the queen and choose from many bee and honey related gifts, including toys, skin care and even hand knitted beanies. Our hives are kept in the most pristine forests and natural bush land of WA's south west. With no chemicals or antibiotics used, and each hive being unpainted on the inside, we adhere to organic guidelines.
